About Birmingham City University

Birmingham City University (BCU) is renowned as one of the largest universities in the United Kingdom with approximately 24,000 students from 80 nationalities.  This makes the university as a colourful and diverse learning environment for all students who are welcomed and the staff.

Having six academic faculties, Birmingham City University includes faculties such as Birmingham City Business School, Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, Faculty of Health, Faculty of Education, Law and Social Sciences, Faculty of Performance, Media and English and Faculty of Technology, Engineering and the Environment. These faculties offer 350 courses altogether and this also includes foundation programmes, undergraduate degree programmes, Master’s courses and research doctorates.

In 2011, the University was top of the Best International Strategy category in 2011 Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards. This was only made possible due to the University’s emphasis on internationalism culture as well as its committed and supportive academic faculties and departments in pioneering approach to overseas partnership-building. According to a survey between 2015 and 2016, some 94% of Birmingham City University graduates were in employment or furthered their study within six months of graduating and this achievement is hoped to be maintained over many years to come.
