Curriculum
On this specialist course you will gain a firm grounding in the subject by studying two core modules which examine current issues and research in international law plus law and policy in the region.
You will then choose two further modules from around 20 options, with a special focus on issues such as conflict, human rights and international relations. Innovative modules open to you to study include Islam and Human Rights, Islamic Legal Cultures and Islamic Legal Theories.
Whatever your specific interests, you’ll be able to focus on a relevant area for your 15,000-word dissertation, which is a compulsory element of the course. This will help to hone the research skills expected of a postgraduate student.
You will benefit from an academic team with a well established reputation for research and expertise in international law, Islam and the Middle East.
