Entry Requirements

Degree and/or experience:

  • Normally an undergraduate degree in an arts-related subject. Applicants demonstrating equivalent skills and experience will be considered as well as those with less traditional trajectories. Seasoned artists and practitioners who want to re-examine their practice within a critically supported frame of reference are also encouraged to apply.
  • We are looking for highly motivated and creative students. We will primarily be interested in your ideas, experiences and portfolio. We will consider you on an individual basis.

English Language Requirement:

  • IELTS 6.5 overall and 6.0 in writing.

Deadline:

  • We interview both in person and via Skype. We normally start interviewing from February onwards and continue normally until the end of June. We recommend submitting your application before the end of May.

Research statement:

  • When submitting your online application, you need to include a personal statement. This should briefly describe your background and what motivates you to apply for the MA. You should detail your interests as an artist and describe your practice and methods, as well as any key influences – be they artists, thinkers, ideas or particular experiences. You should also identify the aims for your studies, what they might involve and possible technical requirements. The statement does not need to be any longer than one side of A4.
