Curriculum
Level 1:
- Introductory mechanics; mathematics; structures; hydraulics; geotechnics; computing; concrete technology; materials and metallurgy; engineering drawing and design; surveying; conceptual design; design and build project; construction management; options: language study (French, German, Japanese, Spanish or Russian); engineering skills.
Level 2:
- Mathematics; structural engineering; hydraulics and fluid mechanics; geotechnical engineering; water quality control; construction management; civil engineering design; computer-aided design; computing; options: environmental management; computational mechanics; advanced mechanics; further mathematics; highway engineering; hydrology; engineering geology; further language study; selection for the MEng programme at the end of Level 2.
Final Levels:
- Guided study; project (research, design, computational, environmental or management). Options: advanced engineering analysis; numerical computations and applications in structural, water and geotechnical engineering; construction management; highway and traffic engineering; civil engineering in developing countries; environmental management; small engineering projects; further language study.
