Hull York Medical School

Having a strong reputation as an undergraduate medical school, Hull York Medical School (HYMS) consistently ranks in the top ten in UK. Having strong partnership with some professional institution, the school’s innovative curriculum emphasises modern teaching methods, a solid grounding in the sciences and regular clinical experience.

HYMS is a partnership between its two parent Universities and the National Health Service in Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire. HYMS provides newly-equipped teaching and learning facilities on the main campuses of both universities.

Postgraduate opportunities are also being developed, a number of higher degree programmes, short courses and professional development opportunities have been launched over the last few years.

In Hull York Medical School (HYMS), programme of study is designed specifically to meet the fast-changing challenges of 21st-century healthcare. Student can get a centred education and personalized learning needs. Meanwhile, patient is the most important element to concern and must be focused.

HYMS has few teaching and research centres which include Castle Hill Hospital, Castle Hill Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary, Scarborough Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, University of Hull, University of York and York Hospital . In addition to undergraduate medical programme, it also provides medical, taught, research programme and other courses for the postgraduate opportunities.

HYMS’s partnership with Yorkshire and Humber Postgraduate Deanery enables the medical school graduates to get foundation training in North and East Yorkshire by the North Yorkshire East Coast Foundation School, one of three sub-deaneries within the broader Yorkshire and the Humber Postgraduate Deanery.

By having a partnership between the Universities of Hull and Universities of York, The Hull York Medical School is has newly-equipped teaching and learning facilities on the main campuses of both universities. Universities of Hull is located at Cottingham Road, Hull HU6 7RX while Universities of Hull is located at Heslington, York YO10 5DD.
