Bachelor of Science (Hons) Financial Mathematics
About
This programme focuses on developing graduates with advanced quantitative finance skills. As the financial landscape grows more complex, professionals must analyze and evaluate financial instruments while managing investment risks effectively. UTAR’s Financial Mathematics programme equips students with expertise in probability theory, computational finance, and scientific computing. These skills help model asset prices, market movements, and interest rates, forming the foundation of financial product design based on the Black-Scholes-Merton option pricing theory (Nobel Prize, 1997).
Graduates will be prepared for roles in financial risk management, multinational corporations, and regulatory bodies overseeing derivatives and commodity markets. Additionally, students will gain hands-on experience in electronic trading systems, enhancing their practical knowledge in automated financial operations.
