Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) Psychology

The Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) Psychology programme at UTAR provides students with a comprehensive understanding of human thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, covering both normal and abnormal psychological processes.

This programme develops an in-depth knowledge of psychological concepts and theories, while also focusing on their real-world applications in diverse settings. With an emphasis on meeting the evolving needs of the socio-economic environment, students will explore various branches of psychology, including cognitive, social, clinical, and industrial-organizational psychology.

To enhance practical skills and professional readiness, students will also gain hands-on experience through a supervised industrial training programme, preparing them for careers in psychology, counselling, human resources, research, and more.

• - Fully accredited by MQA
  - Minimum CGPA 2.50 (or 2.00 with 2 years of work experience, subject to approval)
  - Must pass faculty admission screening and take bridging courses in Math & Science

• The credit in Mathematics and Science and pass in English at SPM level requirement can be waived if a higher grade is obtained in STPM/equivalent qualification.

English Language Requirements:

• Malaysian Applicants: - Must have a Credit in English at SPM level / equivalent if STPM/UEC/other qualifications are not conducted fully in English.
• Acceptable alternatives: Grade C in O-Level English / Grade B in UEC English / MUET Band 3 / IELTS Band 5.0 / TOEFL 40(iBT) / TOEFL Essentials 7.5 / PTE 47 / Cambridge English 154 / OET 100 / ELS CIEP Level 107.
