Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons)

Physiotherapists play a crucial role as integral members of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, providing essential services that help individuals develop, maintain, and restore optimal movement and functional abilities throughout their lives. The practice of physiotherapy focuses on enhancing quality of life by maximizing functional movement potential across various areas, including health promotion, disease prevention, maintenance, intervention, treatment, habilitation, and rehabilitation. Through specialized techniques and evidence-based approaches, physiotherapists contribute significantly to patient recovery and overall well-being.

This programme was established to meet the growing societal and market demand for highly skilled physiotherapists. It offers a comprehensive educational experience, combining theoretical knowledge, practical training, and technical competence essential for professional physiotherapy practice. It is designed to produce competent and compassionate physiotherapists who uphold high ethical standards in patient care. Graduates will be equipped with strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, leadership qualities, and clinical decision-making skills. Additionally, they will be encouraged to engage in lifelong learning and continuous professional development, ensuring they remain at the forefront of advancements in the field.

Any one of these:

• STPM: 1. A minimum GPA of 2.33 in any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics.
• A-Level: A minimum of Grade D in any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics.
• UEC: 1. Grade B in 5 subjects including any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics
• SAM: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics.
• CPU: An Average of 70% in 6 subjects including any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics.
• (IB) Diploma: Diploma with a minimum of 28 points (excluding bonus points) and obtained a minimum of 4 points each in any 2 of the following subjects: Biology-HL, Chemistry-HL OR Physics-HL/ Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation/ Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches.
• Foundation in Science, UTAR: A minimum GPA of 2.33 in any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics.
• Mariculation / Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning: A minimum GPA of 2.33 in any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics
• Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in the relevant field: Minimum CGPA of 2.75. If CGPA below 2.75, a minimum of 36 months(3 years) working experience in the related field is requied
• Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government: A minimum GPA of 2.33 in any 2 of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Physics/Mathematics

English Language Requirements:

• 1. Malaysian Applicants with STPM/UEC/qualfications not conducted fully in English must have a Credit in Englsih language at SPM level / Grade C in O-Level English / Grade B in UEC English / MUET Band 3 / IELTS Band 5.5 / TOEFL 46(iBT)/8(Essentials) / PTE 51 / Cambridge English 160/200(OET) / ELS CIEP Level 108 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent).
• 2. International Applicants must have a minimum of IELTS Band 5.5 / MUET Band 3 / TOEFL 46(iBT)/8(Essentials) / PTE 51 / Cambridge English 160/200(OET) / ELS CIEP Level 108 / equivalent (NOT applicable for entry qualifications conducted fully in English or students from countries with English as official language BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent).
