Programme Overview
UNIRAZAK’s Bachelor of Economics (Hons) is the only undergraduate economics degree offered by a private institution in Malaysia through a school of government. It prepares students to be critical economic thinkers and policymakers, adaptable to governance and economic challenges.

This programme offers two specialisations:

  • Financial Governance: Integrates economics, finance, and governance with cutting-edge subjects like financial technology, data science, and digital currency. Graduates gain expertise in finance, risk management, and financial regulations, equipping them with in-demand skills.

  • International Trade: Focuses on economic policy-making, national development, and public-private sector relations. It trains students not only as economists but also as policy strategists who shape national economic policies.

Entry Requirements

  • STPM: A pass with a minimum Grade Point of 2.00 in any TWO (2) subjects and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level.
    Note: The requirement for a pass in Mathematics and English at the SPM level can be excluded if the candidate obtained a credit or higher grade at STPM.

  • A-Level: A pass with a minimum Grade D in any TWO (2) subjects, and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level.

  • Matriculation / Foundation / Pre-University: A pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 from an institution recognized by the Malaysian Government.

  • Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM): A pass with a minimum grade of Jayyid and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level.
    Note: The requirement for a pass in Mathematics and English at the SPM level can be excluded if the candidate obtained a credit or higher grade at STAM.

  • UEC: A pass with a minimum grade B in FIVE (5) subjects, including a pass in Mathematics & English.

  • Diploma: A Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 from universities/colleges recognized by the Malaysian Government.

  • International Baccalaureate (IB): A pass with a minimum score of 30 points.

  • Others: Other equivalent qualifications recognized by MQA/Malaysian Government, including:

    • Diploma Kolej Vokasional (DVM)

    • Diploma Executive UM

    • APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning)

  • International Students: A minimum score of:

    • IELTS 5.5 / CEFR B1

    • TOEFL PBT (410-413)

    • TOEFL IBT (34)

    • CAE (160) (Cambridge English: Advanced) / CEFR B2

    • CPE (180) (Cambridge English: Proficiency) / CEFR C1

    • A minimum of Grade C in First Cambridge English (FCE) minimum scale

    • MUET (Malaysian University English Test) (Band 3)

    Successful attainment of FCE minimum of Grade C (162) conducted by the Centre for English Language (CEL) within 12 months from the date of entry with a conditional offer letter.

    Note: The validity period for TOEFL and IELTS is TWO (2) years from the date of the award.
