Accommodation
The accommodation at UniKL is able to cater almost 10,000 students from all over UniKL campuses. The ambiance in the student apartment helps build camaraderie and encourage friendship among students of diverse racial and religious backgrounds. Good quality off-campus accommodation are also available at reasonable rates. UniKL will make an effort to house all students on campus for at least one year. There are accommodation officers available to help students find their own accommodation and to provide advice on housing problems.
On-campus Accommodation
- Most on campus accommodation is located within each campus with the exception of students from IPROM and MIIT, both based at City Campus in Kuala Lumpur.
- Female students from these two institutes are housed in university accommodation in Jalan Tanduk, in Bangsar while accommodation for male students are at Block 10 in Lembah Pantai and Kampung Baru.
- Buses are provided for these students to travel to and from the City Campus.
- Accommodation is guaranteed to all first year students who have a firm offer from the university. Students from 2nd year onwards are encouraged to find their own accommodation although rooms maybe available on campus on case to case basis.
- It is very cheap to stay on campus as the accommodation is heavily subsidized by the university. The rental that is charged is from RM120-RM150 monthly. The accommodation is on quad sharing basis and only basic necessities are provided to each student such as, bed, wardrobe, mattress and study table.
Private Accommodation
- Private accommodation is also available with most being at least two miles from campus. Renting privately can work out extremely economical particularly in a shared house or apartment.
- In Kuala Lumpur the rental for a two-bedroom unfurnished flat can range from RM600- RM 1,000 depending on the area. Private housing in our branch campuses will be approximately 20-30% lower than in Kuala Lumpur.
- Living cost will vary according to the type of accommodation, the number of people and the area.
