Bachelor of Biotechnology (Hons)

The Bachelor of Biotechnology programme at Taylor's University offers comprehensive training in agriculture, medical, and industrial biotechnology. Students gain hands-on experience in molecular cloning, genome editing, bioinformatics, and bioprocessing technologies, preparing for a dynamic career in the biotechnology industry.

Prerequisites:

• SPM / O-Level with Pre-U / Foundation: Pass SPM/O-level or equivalent with 5 credits in Mathematics and one science subject for entry with pre-university /foundation qualification. (Except for UEC)

• SPM / O-Level with Diploma: Pass SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject for entry with Diploma qualification.

Entry Pathway:

• Taylor’s Foundation in Science (FIS): Pass with min. CGPA 2.00
• Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): Pass STPM with min. of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent
• Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): A Pass in UEC with min 5Bs including Mathematics and one Science subject. Candidates without a Grade B in Mathematic and one Science subject may be admitted if the candidate has a credit in Mathematic and one Science subject at SPM or equivalent level.
• A Level: Min. DD for 2 subjects
• AUSMAT (SACEi): Min. ATAR 60
• Canadian Pre-University (CPU): Min. average of 60% in 6 subjects
• International Baccalaureate (IB): Min. 24 points based on 6 subjects
• Matriculation in Science: Min. CGPA 2.00
• Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY): Overall 50%
• Other Qualifications: Students with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Application via APEL A is allowed.

Note: The credit requirement at SPM level for candidate can be waived should the grades obtained at the STPM / STAM / Diploma / Matriculation / Foundation level are equivalent/higher. 

English Requirements:

• IELTS, TOEFL, MUET, UEC English: Pass English
• Pre-University / Diploma: Completed Pre-University / Diploma that was conducted in English
• Cambridge English/ELS also recognised; the minimum score varies by programme
• Taylor's EET: Overall score 5.0
• Taylor's IEN Level 2: Grade C
