Diploma in Early Childhood Education
About
Early childhood educators were recognised on Malaysia’s Critical Occupations List 2018/2019, and since 2020, a Diploma in early childhood has become the minimum requirement for individuals aspiring to work in kindergartens (tadikas) across the country. This highlights the growing need for professionally qualified individuals who can nurture young lives during the most formative years. Therefore, this program is thoughtfully designed by a team of seasoned experts who previously delivered the highly respected Montessori Diploma under the Montessori Centre International UK, as well as degree programmes from Australia and the UK in early childhood education. The diploma undergoes regular reviews to align with current industry demands.
From the first semester, students are immersed in real-world early childhood environments where coursework and assignments are structured to help them demonstrate their evolving skills and competencies in delivering impactful early learning experiences. Graduates from SEGi College are in demand not only in Malaysia but also in countries like Singapore and China. The diploma also offers a pathway to enter directly into Year 2 of a degree in early childhood education. Graduates can pursue rewarding careers in a variety of early childhood-related fields, such as teaching, managing or owning a childcare centre or nursery, pre-school consultancy, or working within international school settings.
