Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) - ODL
About
MAHSA University offers a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) curriculum through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) that equips students for a future in healthcare. In the promotion, prevention, and treatment of patients with neurological, cardiorespiratory, and musculoskeletal problems, physiotherapy maximises quality of life by improving movement and functional abilities. Students must complete a minimum of 1200 hours of clinical practice during this program.
Lectures and online tutorials are among the educational approaches. Before lectures or tutorials, self-instructional materials will be posted to the internet forum. This online platform will be used to host lectures and discussions utilising integrative teaching methodologies. Case situations will be used by lecturers to aid in learning. Face-to-face instruction will be used to conduct practical sessions where practical skills can be shown. Students also gain pragmatic experience from the Community Physiotherapy Clinic in MAHSA Avenue as well as training at a number of Government and Private Hospitals. Credit transfer is permitted for diploma holders up to 30% of their graduating credits, provided that the modules are mapped.
