About
Hone skills in more than two related fields of study crossing media, business, design and new communication technologies through the study of history, theory, ethics and criticism of various practices, institutions and discourses in media, communication and information.
The Department of Media, Culture and Communication compromises of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment as a technology-focused course to provide experiences with commercial-level equipment to produce assignments for print, film and TV.
The BA (Mass Communication) at Curtin is provided with three stream choices as below:
- Corporate Screen Production & Marketing Stream
- Corporate Screen Production & Public Relations Stream
- Corporate Screen Production & Journalism Stream
- Corporate Screen Production
Concept and skills in corporate video production to provide understanding in using video technologies, planning and commencing of corporate video production projects.
- Marketing
Key skills and knowledge of learning marketing principles, consumer behavior and specialisations such as international and internet marketing.
- Public Relations
Preparing skills, comprehension and professionalism needed for a media industry career. Both professional aspects of journalism practice and theoretical understanding of media law & regulation, economic history, ethical and social issues will be learned.
- Journalism
Understand and produce effective communication, news production, materialising current affairs for print and electronic media and the operating of contemporary news media through the study of journalism theory and practice through print, broadcast and online media; in addition to learning legal and ethical conditions of practiced journalism.
