About the Centre for Biomedical & Technology Integration (CBMTI):
Founded in May 2011 as a startup initiated by the University of Malaya, CBMTI is situated in IPS and UMRC. The center's inaugural project involved the development of custom implants for skull replacement surgeries (for trauma and tumor cases) and facial reconstruction for defects. Presently, CBMTI's projects encompass a range of endeavors, including customized titanium implants, maxillofacial reconstruction, spine and frame bio models, medical communication systems for operating rooms (MEDCOM OR), among others. Leveraging a multidisciplinary team, CBMTI utilizes 3D printing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data Analytics to their fullest potential. However, CBMTI distinguishes itself by creating impactful, sophisticated training simulators for Industry 4.0 technology.
