About
The BSc (Honours) Biomedical Sciences 2+1 programme offered explores the human body’s function in health and disease. It equips you with specialist knowledge about how diseases occur, and how researchers and clinicians develop new treatments.
It covers a diverse range of subjects relating to medicine, including the study of key areas such as biochemistry, genetics, physiology, microbiology, immunology and pharmacology.
The programme encompasses two academic years at NUMed, which mirrors what is being studied at Newcastle University, UK, and the final academic year in the UK, with research-led teaching and an intensive research project in one of the highly regarded research institutes at the Newcastle University Medical School.

Entry Requirements
Whatever pre-university qualifications you offer, they should include the science subjects Biology, Chemistry and one other subject at a level equivalent to A-Level, International Baccalaureate Diploma or STPM.
A UCAT result is currently not required for entry to NUMed Malaysia. The entrance requirements below apply to 2022 entry.

Curriculum
The course you will study is equivalent to the one delivered at our Medical School in the UK, and following successful completion of the programme you will be awarded the degree BSc (Honours) Biomedical Sciences by Newcastle University, UK.
The BSc (Honours) Biomedical Sciences (BMS) degree programme offered at NUMed Malaysia is split into two parts:

Part I – two academic years, which mirrors exactly the programme offered in the UK, delivered at the brand-new custom built 13-acre NUMed Malaysia campus in Iskandar Puteri, Johor
