Entry Requirements
- A Levels: AAB in any subjects excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking. If Mathematics and Physics not offered at A or AS level, a minimum of grade B in Mathematics and Physics (or Dual Award Science) GCSE is required.
- Scottish Qualification: AAB in any subject at Advanced Higher. Higher Mathematics and Physics preferred at grade B if not offered at Advanced Higher. Mathematics and Physics required at grade 2 Standard Grade (or Intermediate 2 equivalent) if not offered at Higher Grade. Where a candidate bypasses the assessment for National 5 qualifications, a minimum of grade C in the Higher in Physics or Dual Award Science is required.
- International Baccalaureate: A minimum of 35 points with Mathematics or Mathematical Studies and Physics at Standard Level grade 5.
- Irish Leaving Certificate: A1A1A1B1B at Higher Level. Mathematics and Physics preferred at Higher Level but accepted at Ordinary Level Grade B if not offered at Higher Level.
- Cambridge Pre-U: D3,D3,M2 in Principal Subjects. GCSE grade B in Mathematics and Physics (or Dual Award Science) required if not offered at a higher level.
- PARTNERS - A Levels: BBB in any subjects but excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking. If Mathematics and Physics not offered at A or AS level, a minimum of grade B in Maths and Physics (or Dual Award Science) GCSE is required. The PARTNERS Programme is Newcastle University’s supported entry route for students from identified schools and colleges.
- English Language Requirements: For this degree you will need a minimum score of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
