The world is counting on agriculture to produce more nutritious food for a booming population, especially the poor. What could be more meaningful than being part of a proven solution to such a critical challenge?

There is a great need for new professionals to enter the field of agriculture in Asia. The need for more sustainable food sources has never been greater than it is today with the global population continuing to grow. Many students are choosing to study abroad, with some of the best universities and colleges being in North America. If you are considering such a move yourself, it is certainly an important decision that requires a great deal of planning.

Eligibility Requirements

There are some academic requirements that you need to be aware of if you wish to study Agriculture and Related Subjects in Canada. Canada did not set requirements for international students to be admitted to their university system. Rather, they depend on global assessment agencies to evaluate the merits of your secondary school performance. As such, you will want to make sure that you earn high marks in your courses, and that you take some advanced level math and science courses if possible.

Unless you are hoping to attend a French based university in Canada, you will need to demonstrate a certain level of English language proficiency. While some schools that you choose to apply to may have their own internal assessment to complete, most will accept scores on either the TOEFL or IELTS exam in order to fulfill this requirement. Since the IELTS exam is more common in Malaysia, you would benefit from studying for this test early and take it often. You want to aim for a minimum score of 6.0 in each strand of the assessment.
